ORCA Dive Clubs

Three bases on the northern Red Sea coast.

The Operator

ORCA Dive Clubs is a European-founded international chain operating across 25 locations worldwide. In Egypt, their three main bases run along the northern Red Sea coast from El Gouna to Safaga. The brand has a long association with German-speaking dive markets but trains in multiple languages across all locations.

The Egypt flagship is Soma Bay, where the 420-metre jetty gives direct access to the drop-off reef at Ras Abu Soma. A dedicated Freediving Academy and Rebreather Centre make Soma Bay the technical training base of the network. El Gouna is the wreck specialist, with 60 accessible sites including 10 wrecks. Safaga, positioned between the two, runs quieter crossings to Panorama Reef and the Salem Express.

El Gouna

60 dive sites including 10 wrecks. Thistlegorm and Abu Nuhas accessible by full-day boat.

Set directly on the Abu Tig Marina promenade in El Gouna, this base has the widest wreck access of any ORCA location in Egypt. The Thistlegorm alone draws serious divers to this address. El Gouna's purpose-built infrastructure means consistent logistics and a large pool of professional multilingual staff.

Soma Bay

420-metre jetty with direct drop-off reef access. Dedicated Freediving Academy and Rebreather Centre.

The ORCA Egypt flagship. A 420-metre jetty from The Breakers Lodge gives divers direct access to the Ras Abu Soma drop-off without a boat ride, which is unusual on this coast. Five partner hotels on the Soma Bay peninsula give flexibility on accommodation without losing proximity to the operation.

Safaga

Panorama Reef and Salem Express wreck, with quieter conditions than Hurghada.

Between Safaga and Soma Bay, this centre runs boat trips across the Safaga channel to sites that see considerably less traffic than their Hurghada equivalents. Panorama Reef and the Salem Express are the headline draws. The resort setting gives divers a relaxed base away from Hurghada's volume.

Atlas Position

ORCA is one of the most consistent professional diving operations on the Egyptian coast. The Soma Bay flagship, with its 420-metre jetty and technical training facilities, is a serious piece of infrastructure. For groups, families, or divers who want reliable training at multiple certification levels anywhere from El Gouna to Safaga, ORCA is a strong default across the northern Red Sea.
